Draft — not yet reviewed by a lawyer. This page describes what the systems on this site actually do, generated from the code and the retention windows it enforces. It has not been reviewed for legal sufficiency and must not be treated as a published policy until it has.
What this site actually uses
This site does not set a cookie to remember your consent choice — it uses your browser’s local storage instead, which is not sent to a server on every request the way a cookie is. Beyond that, and your light/dark theme preference (also local storage), nothing runs before you make a choice below.
Strictly necessary — always on
These require no consent because the site cannot function without them:
- Your cookie/analytics choice — local storage, so this banner does not reappear on every page.
- Your theme preference — local storage, light or dark.
- Cloudflare Turnstile — runs on every form on this site (contact, Start Your Build, job applications) to tell a human apart from a bot before the submission is accepted. It is not analytics and does not build an advertising profile of you.
Analytics — only after you accept
Choosing “Accept analytics” enables:
- Vercel Analytics — aggregated page-view counts and Core Web Vitals for this site. It does not use a tracking cookie or build a cross-site profile.
- Google Analytics — only if and when we configure it. It is not active on the live site today; when it is, it sets its own cookies to measure usage, and this section will be updated to say so precisely, with what it sets and for how long.
Changing your mind
“Cookie settings” in the footer of every page reopens the same banner at any time, and your new choice takes effect immediately — withdrawing is exactly as easy as giving consent was.
