Careers
Small teams, senior people, difficult conditions
We keep teams small and the people on them senior. That limits how much work we take on, and it is why the person you hire talks directly to the client rather than through an account manager. If you want ownership and are willing to be held to it, this is a good place to work.
Open roles
Where we are hiring
Currently hiring
No open roles right now
We hire when a specific engagement needs someone, not on a rolling basis, so this page is empty more often than not. That does not mean we are not interested — the people we most want to hire rarely arrive during a posting window.
Send us your CV anywayWhat we always look for
You have shipped into difficult conditions
Intermittent networks, low-end devices, payment rails that fail mid-transaction, or a regulator asking why. Tell us what broke and what you did about it.
You say the hard thing early
Tell us about a time you raised a risk that made a project uncomfortable, and what happened next. The outcome matters less than the timing.
You finish things
Documentation, handover, the unglamorous last ten percent. We would rather see one thing you took all the way than five you started.
What we offer
The things that actually change your week
No table tennis. These are the ones people tell us matter.
Direct client contact
You talk to the people who use what you build. Nobody translates the problem for you, and nobody translates your answer back.
Senior-only teams
No juniors billed as seniors, and no layers. You will be the most junior person on a project roughly never.
Time to do it properly
Tests and CI from the first commit are in the estimate, not squeezed in later. We quote for the work we intend to do.
Real devices, real conditions
A mid-range Android on the desk and a throttled connection in CI. You will build for the users we actually have.
Handover as a deliverable
Knowledge transfer has a date on it. You will finish engagements rather than being quietly moved off them.
Abuja-based, flexible
Hybrid from Abuja, or remote within two hours of WAT. We care where the overlap is, not where the desk is.
How hiring runs
Four conversations, about two weeks
No take-home that takes a weekend, and no whiteboard algorithms. We will pay for your time if we ask for more than an hour of work.
- 1
First conversation
45 minutesForty-five minutes with the person who would work alongside you. What you have built, and what you want to build next.
- 2
Technical conversation
90 minutesWe walk through something you have already built, or a problem from a real engagement. No algorithm puzzles.
- 3
Paid exercise
Half a dayA short, scoped piece of work that resembles the job, paid at your day rate. Optional if we have enough to go on.
- 4
Offer conversation
2 working daysScope, level and money, in one conversation rather than three. You will have a written offer within two working days.
